What I wanted to say ia that they need to be limited to driving under supervision until they can prove that they can be trusted to drive well. Teens kill a lot of people unnecessarily on the roadways and this can be avoided by proper training and supervision. If a teen cannot drive safely alone then they should not be allowed to drive alone.

The NZTA say the leading cause of crashes is inexperience. They say this inexperience is caused by parents not teaching them what they need to know. To many parents are reluctant to do things like let them drive on motor-ways or other "increased risk driving." Also if they own the car (I do and I am 17) they will be less likely to want damage to be caused to it and expenses like New flywheel (from ridding the clutch,) more petrol, etc. If its their car let them do what they want with it they should pay. Especially with auto accidents being the main cause for premature death in people aged 15-25. Parents need to do everything in their power to build and sustain a healthy relationship with their teens, this will allow a level of trust to be built.
